From the moment we select our yearlings, we have a programme mapped out for them. It's a programme that is tailored to each individual horse and their requirements. It focuses on allowing the horse to develop its fullest potential. BC3 are specialists in turning the 'raw material' - young, well-bred horses - into tough, fit athletes ready to step up into genuine racing company.

Our three-step process has been proven, time and again. There's no mystery - it's just a blend of common sense, horsemanship and sports science that is applied to each horse to bring out its best.
1. Select the best
BC3 Thoroughbreds buys a specific type of horse. It must be a type to suit both our program and our buyers' requirements. Our evaluation process focuses on finding athletic types that will perform within our program.
Keen judges of bloodstock, our equine operations team know exactly what they are looking for. We work hard to find the best, so our team scour the globe at major yearling sales in Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Japan.
2. Apply training and nutrition
From the moment we buy a horse its progress is closely monitored and managed. A highly scientific approach is taken. Our horses' diets follow the latest in nutritional advancements. Their exercise programmes, individually mapped out by our expert team, focus on slow yet steady strength-building and the development of bone density and skeletal structure, which is crucial at this age. Importantly, no effort is spared in getting these horses right.
3. Produce elite athletes
By the time our horses are for sale, they are extremely well-educated. Almost unrecognisable from the yearlings we initially purchased, these are strong, honed athletes. This is evident when you watch them at our preview stage. So you can buy a BC3 thoroughbred one week, and race it soon after.
