Karaka buying lifts BC3 draft to 29

BC3 Thoroughbreds has finished a strong January buying program with the purchase of 6 horses at the New Zealand Thoroughbreds Karaka sale this week. The purchases come on top of a 6 horse haul at both Magic Millions Perth and the Inglis Classic sale in Sydney and an 11 horse buying spree at Magic Millions on the Gold Coast.

The highlights from Karaka were a couple of Pins fillys. The first, Lot 91, is a bay filly out of the Group 1 winning mare, Pernod. She was purchased for NZ$250,000. The major buy of the sale came at Lot 228,  another Pins filly out of the O’Reilly mare Vanilla Sky which was picked up for NZ$330,000. These 2 fillies will join 4 colts by Danroad, Volksraad, Elusive City and Bel Esprit on the trip back to Sutton Grange for preparation under the watchful eye of BC3’s head trainer Shane Chipman.

With another 4 sales yet to occur, BC3 are well on way to compiling an outstanding book of graduates for their 2010 sale in August. The full list of 2010 purchases to date are listed below:
